this is what i wrote to letta half an hour ago:
"WE HAVE A BLACK PRESIDENT! wow. i can't believe it. i'm so glad we're alive to witness this moment and sad for all the people who aren't-the ones we knew and loved and the ones we didn't who made huge sacrifices so we could vote today."
i don't know what kind of president he will be or what kind of person he actually is. what has really been the glimmer of hope for me is the fact that this election showed that it is possible to get so many people engaged, committed and politically active. it's the idea that change might actually be possible that is affecting me the most.
