for those of you that have long attention spans and are extremely, fucking bored.
some of the rhymes are kind of awkward but HEY! kiss my lovely ass.
[ALONG CAME HOPE]
Once upon a time,
There lived a fuzzy creature.
Near the outskirts of the Kingdom Rhine
Was where he featured.
Void was his name.
He had no friends.
To him, everything was the same.
To him, every start was an end.
He lived deep in the hollow
Of the Great Old Tree of Disguise,
Under the nests of Mellows
And Immortality with his never-ending lives.
One stormy day,
Two dark figures appeared.
Void stood there in dismay.
Who else but Despair and Fear?
“We’re tired, we’re hungry,
We need a place to stay.
We won’t hurt you. Just don’t make us angry.
And don’t you dare turn us away.”
Their threat, Void had no intention to heed.
For Fear and Despair he would provide.
On this they all agreed,
As long as their lives did not collide.
One night, when Void was out on his porch,
Joy walked up the wooden steps.
Her way was lighted by a glowing torch.
She asked him if he had any room left.
Void was taken by the little girl,
Her smile that radiated simple bliss,
Her head full of golden curls.
These things he sure would miss.
Just when he was going to say yes
To “Room, board, and clothes,
Please be my guest”,
Despair and Fear each gave their “No’s”.
After Joy sulkily walked away,
Void turned to the pair,
“Why couldn’t she stay?”
“We can’t allow you to care.”
“Why not?
Why do I have to do what you say?”
“Have you forgot?
She’ll just get in our way.”
The very next morning,
When the sun shone through the windows
And Void was doing the housekeeping,
Through his front door came another young kiddo.
“Hello, my name is Faith.
I’m hungry. Can I have some rice?”
“No,” said Fear, “she’s just bait.
It never pays to be nice.”
The very next day,
Void felt guilt.
At having sent Faith away,
He felt like his life was on stilts.
As Void walked down his sidewalk
Who else would he meet
But Friendship and their friendly looking socks
On their friendly looking feets.
“We need a place to stay.
We’re tired, hungry, and lost
And we can’t find our way.”
Void promised to give it some thought.
But then, onto the scene
Fear and Despair seemed to pop.
With their faces alight with mean,
Scaring Friendship right out of their tops!
As Fear and Despair cheered
At their little victory,
Love suddenly appeared
And asked for hospitality.
Void wanted to take her in,
Give her nurture and care
And all that was required of him.
“It is too bad
That we had to ask her to depart.
At us, don’t be mad,
We’re only playing our parts.”
One day when he went for a strolling,
Void came upon Need,
Found him on the floor crying,
Having scraped his poor little knees.
Need was being carried,
Back to the house they go.
Despair and Fear said, “Sorry!
We really are, but it is still a no!”
And so Void watched Need go away.
A tear strolled down both their cheeks.
It is too bad that Need couldn’t stay.
A few days later,
While they were all busy eating
The food of Void’s cater,
There came a loud knocking.
An old lady and her kind face
And her nightcap full of moons and stars
Made Void want to erase
How he had sent them all away - oh so far!
“Kindness is who I am.
I’m looking for my kids,” said she.
“Oh, dear Uncle Sam!
Where could they be?!”
Void looked down in shame
Not wanting to meet her eyes.
“Oh, I am to blame!
I am a most unpleasant surprise!
For I am the one
Who turned all of them away!
All this baggage weighs a ton!
I wish that I had chosen to let them stay!”
Kindness replies,
“It is okay, my dear,
You don’t have to cry,
You don’t have to shed those tears.
But will you please help me?
Find all those children.
For they are, you see,
All of them, lost orphans.”
All of a sudden,
Fear came out and butt in.
“No, Void, you may not!
For where they were headed,
Have you forgot?
I saw them all go
Towards the Forest of Death,
Don’t you know?”
Despair spoke,
“Fear is correct.
There is no hope.
There’s nothing to expect.”
And so into the forest
Kindness went.
Into the mist
Was how her life had end.
That night,
Despair and Fear decided
To take a one day flight
To the Lake of Many Vices.
The very next day,
When the sun shone at its brightest,
Hope came Void’s way,
And to find the kids, she invited.
Void was glad,
Because he really wanted to help.
Out he came, clad,
Nobody to stop his mighty self!
Void went
Along with Hope
Through the valleys and the bends,
Through all this, they had coped.
At the end of the search,
They had found all the kids.
At this, Void felt true mirth,
Something that Hope could give.
A purpose is what
Void felt like he had.
He suddenly felt enlightened but
He knew that Despair and Fear would be mad.
When the duo finally arrived home,
Hope and the kids were running around so loud,
They could have brought down Rome,
Above their heads appeared dark clouds.
Void was called to the kitchen
For Despair and Fear wanted a chat
“By Hope and the kids, we are sickened.
We don’t want to deal with that.
It’s either them or us.
Your choice.
But to decide, you must.”
As Void stood there pondering,
Despair and Fear took the time to persuading.
“You don’t need Hope,
You don’t need Joy.
Don’t be a dope,
Be a smart boy.
You don’t need Trust or Friendship
You don’t need their joining at the hip.
You don’t need Love,
You certainly don’t want Need,
You shouldn’t care for any of the above,
It is clear for everyone to see.”
“You guys are right,
I was fine before she came.
I thought I saw the light
But what I need is to forget her name.”
So with that, Void decided
To ask Hope to leave.
When he told her, she confided,
“For you, I will always grieve.
Because your only company
Will be Fear and Despair
And I know that you’ll never be happy.
I wish that these words can be taken back
But Despair is here and won’t cut me any slack.”
And with that being said, Hope and the kids walked out the door.
And for Void, everything was suddenly no more.
Love, Trust, Friendship, Joy, Faith, and Need
Had all went away,
Against Void’s silent pleads,
The memories were all that stayed.
A bright, sunny morning
Void heard a knocking.
Thinking it was Hope and all she could bring,
He answered the door on the very next ring.
A little, blue fellow stood there.
Void said, “I don’t believe we have met.”
“We haven’t and it isn’t fair.
Hello, my name is Regret.”
So little kids, as you can see,
Get rid of Hope and this is what you’ll get
Void is what you’ll be
And all that will surround you is Regret.
ta-da!! one day's worth of work! whoot!
