(no subject)
OK so Evgeni is taking summer classes at university... this girl in his class called him stupid. Yes, in university a girl calls someone stupid, is this weird to anyone else? Ok so is because he speaks English bad. He knows how to write and read like so good, but he speak pretty bad and his accent is like heavy! Like, I have heavy accent but I watch lots of English TV and movie before we move here so I get used to speaking English..
Anyway, the teacher didn't do anything about this girl, like say anything to her or something. Is that saying its ok to call ESL student stupid because he speaks a different language? He worked very hard on his presentation and had video and power points and handouts and things like this, but his speaking is kind of bad. He acts like it doesn't bother him but HE IS MY BROTHER! I can tell it upset him so much, like especially since he never calls me unless he has to! He hates the phone.
So I try to cheer him up, I decide to make a big pot of borsch and black bread... but I am so bad at cooking! I'm like on Skype with my mama asking her what do I do? She is laughing at me so much, which is ok. I am too! So I follow what she says... burn the bread, it's black like coal!!! Like, I can't even cut it, is so hard. Then the borsch is like water... why it doesn't thicken up? Mama said once I put in sour cream it will be ok. BUT IT ISN'T! I mess up so bad. So Genya comes in from school and comes in kitchen and he just looks so confused and ask me what I was doing, I was like "I made borsch and black bread, mama's recipe!" and he laugh soooo hard, like more than mama did.
but he actually tried the borsch and he said it was ok but why is it so thin? I tell him I don't know, I listen to what mama says. I am bad at cooking. But I can make dessert really good, I should just do that instead. OH WELL! hahahahaha
