I'd been thinking about origin theories a bit lately.
The main thing that we need to know about evolution is... it's just a theory! This should not be taught as a FACT! We don't know if this is how life came to be the way that it is. Nobody has witnessed it, nobody has "Indisputable" evidence that it was how it happened. The theory also doesn't exactly explain how all of it started in the first place, just how it continues.
Creationism or Intellegent Design... This is based on religion. If you want the account of creation as described in the book of Genesis taught in school, that's okay if it's a religious based school, or in a home schooling situation. In public school though, if they teach that, then they also have to teach as a theory other accounts of creation in other religions. I'm sure you really want it to be tought the theories about the Ancient Egyptian or Olympian gods creating the world, probably feel it's bad enough it's taught as art in Literature. For this reason I favor separation of church and state.
In between. If you have read or watched "Inherit the Wind," you would see the author's interperetation of Genesis. If a day to God is more like a million years, then creationism and evolution may be possible.
Just what I thought.
