Sorted Sabre out with an in your face lets back across the corral thing. In restrospect, as I said int he previous post, it was mainly my fault. You work and live in an evironment which is frickin cold. You rush to get things done and you take short cuts and then when there is a problem it doesn't hurt to ask why. Rushing cos you are late, feed two hungry horses too close together, which you wouldn't normally, but you think, meh, it will be okay It isn't. They have to have their distance or arguments ensue. It is all posturing with my two. I won't say they never connect but it is rare. Mare and gelding who are both fairly dominant. I'm the softy because I feel so bad when it is minus ridiculous and they are hungry, but they are tougher than that.
Anyway, as the exercise was *move your feet* I was treated to a spectacular display of Sabre trotting in almost slow motion through the snow, where I so wished I had had a camera because it was just gorgeous. Fluffy pony held his head high and lifted his feet and, well, just lovely. I have to wait for a warmish day and get on his back, and hers. She's bored, too, but it has not been clement for riding and I am not that brave.
In other news I recieved a painting I commisioned of Rich. Wow. It was a photo taken of him stnading in a ruined Afghanistan building. I think people wondered why I chose it because you can't see his face. But the poignancy of it touches hearts. I picked it up today and took it into work where we opened it to see. I had seent he photo of the finished product but not the real thing, and, oh boy, the difference of seeing it live.. Like the boy was standing in our room. Not sure there was a dry eye in the house. The artist had added a couple of touches, too, which I would never have noticed but for a friend. Oh, look at the cross in the window, she said. And I wouldn't have seen it I don't think, but Cass did. It wasn't in the original photo, so something she added and while we are not religious it still meant a lot. Plus she'd written on the back about how a loved one is never gone and painted a tiny poppy. Just, I keep ooking at it and the detail is just amazing.
