Physical Description: HURR have this cute little chocobo

Personality: An idealistic, ambitious young man.

Cloud has always been a quiet one, even from childhood. As a child from a single house-hold, he's always had a different sort of mentality then the other children his age. He always acted more aloof, more adult. For the most part, Cloud did not want to interact with the other children of the village of Nibelheim. Usually, it was thought that he considered himself better than the others -- that he was destined to achieve much more than any of them could in their lives. But in a more quiet fashion than most. People in the village didn't quite understand where Cloud was coming from, while he knew perfectly well what he wanted in his life. He didn't need to have the others accept him, outwardly at least. As a child he didn't want it to come off as him needing a sense of acceptance. But there was never a lot of things that he could classify himself. Most people in the village of Nibelheim had done that for him before he even had a chance to open to prove them otherwise.

He received less than a pleasant reception during one incident that just pushed himself more away from the community and from the girl he had a crush on. The further alienation of how he was treated in Nibelheim gave him a less than pleasant opinion of the world around him. But Cloud is anything if not determined. He is more infamously remarked as being shy rather than anything else. It was always extremely difficult for Cloud to fit in, to the point where he just stopped when the chances of him being accepted into any little group of friends seemed to shrink with his somewhat arrogant behavior or the fact that he didn't see the reason to become close to any of them. Even when he moved away from Nibelheim, Cloud would continue to display the same behavior of keeping himself separated from others. He hardly had any drive to put any effort into building friendships with the other children and, thus, seemed to drive his own social networking.

Despite the lack of social skills, Cloud is more of a receptive soul than anything else. Those he considers dear to him, he is extremely loyal to. Cloud takes everyone's losses more of as his own than anything else; especially when something happens when it's on his watch. To those who manage to get close to him, he isn't really such a bad guy. The front of apathy he displays to the world is just exactly that: a front. The things that he want are just as anyone else wants, acceptance. And once someone displays this to him, he is really an easy guy to understand. His dedication to the people around him can, often then not, is something he puts everything in his heart and body to ensure that they are okay rather than anything else. When he is around the people he cares about, Cloud is extremely unwilling to allow them to see if he is any pain of any kind -- a thoughtful young man. Cloud puts the worries of the many before himself and will often times bite his own tongue rather than allow people to listen to him say anything negative or know how he was feeling. Even unintentionally at some points, it pushes him a little further away from his friends.

Prideful at times, Cloud is unwilling to admit defeat or failure. But his pride only goes so far. Instead of being able to swallow defeat of not becoming a SOLDIER as he had dreamt since he was just some kid in Nibelheim, Cloud runs away from the dreadful truth that plagues him. He still enlists, but only as a Infantryman. He isn't willing to just settle for second best however, he still remains with the hope of becoming a member of SOLDIER like Sephiroth or even his friend Zack. It's this that adds to Cloud's continuing motivation to achieve what he desires to achieve. Be it just getting to Midgar to (hopefully) becoming a First Class SOLDIER one day.

History LINK

Abilities: As a ShinRa cadet, Cloud has very basic fighting skills. Weapons wise, he is more skilled at long-range fights with guns rather than short range with swords. Though he is surprisingly skilled with a sword, though unpracticed. He is not like the ShinRa trained SOLDIER, but the team he's on is usually used as back-up for the SOLDIERs or...cannon fodder. It is certainly up for debate. Cloud is amazing resilient though for his position in the ShinRa chain of command and can take quite a beating before even coming to close to calling it quits.

Possessions: Cloud basically just his ShinRa issued gun and that's about it.

First-Person Sample: [ accidental VIDEO ]

[ The phone was forgotten for a brief moment and a gloved hand is shown pulling away from the screen before a blonde, spikey head of hair appears and looks like he's putting effort into pulling himself up onto the next level before flopping down next to the phone and panting heavily. He just spent the better part of an hour running around after trying to help one of the Rotting when he had first arrived. AWESOME DECISION THAT WAS. He was almost lunch. The teen's chest heaved as he pulled his legs away from the edge just in time to evade something's hand reaching up for his leg. ]

A-ah...well, that wasn't supposed to happen. [ At least he didn't lose any limbs or anything like that as he stayed there for a brief moment, looking up at the sky. ] This sure isn't Midgar. [ Cloud states the obvious, ftw clearly. He dropped his hand over his face for a brief moment before pushing himself to sit up and fiddling with his gun. Before glancing down over the ledge and frowning a little. ] I have enough for about...five of them. Great. [ A sigh before pushing himself to his feet and checking his pockets before pulling out another cartridge. LUCK! He pulls on the strap of the gun, keeping it to his back again before putting away the extra gun cartridge and looking further into the distance. ]

At least no one can say I didn't go down fighting. [ Determined look as he stared a little at the place he was approaching before exiting out of view only to hurry back to grab the phone. ] Might actually need this. [ He switches it off and tucks it into his back pocket. ]

Third-Person Sample: Las Vegas hadn't been an entirely eventful place. Midgar offered more than what this place had to offer. Culture, some sort of bonding after tragedy he imagined, something. Las Vegas was impersonal, though it helped with the type of person Cloud always had been. He wasn't looking to make friends or bond over being kidnapped. He definitely wasn't looking to admit to being kidnapped. But he knew not to do anything that would seem like he was beating a dead horse since everyone else seemed to have the argument that they hadn't been kidnapped or this must be some sort of dream. Cloud had a different theory altogether and it all stemmed from Zack being there. His friend hadn't changed at all. He looked the same as he had all those years ago that it was very difficult to think that it was just chance that they both 'seemingly' arrived at the same time. Cloud was really the only one who had changed between the both of them and that was...really because he had lived longer than his ill-fated friend. The only thing that came to mind when this was in question is that he was possibly dead.

After even acknowledging his friend's existence he had gone about checking for anything in the mirror that would seem like a fatal wound. But nothing of the sort could be seen. Then again, Zack had been in horrible shape when he had died. But being there -- it didn't seem as though he had any injuries at all. Zack hadn't changed a bit in fact. The only one who had changed was him. He just didn't know if it was for the better yet.

The former SOLDIER was more than apprehensive to going to meet the late Zack Fair for pizza and beer. Something about it just seemed wrong to him, but that was probably because he believed the dead didn't need to eat or drink. It was probably more of a choice than a need anymore. Hunger pangs had hit him on his way out the door, leaving Dr. Sweets to his second nervous breakdown in their apartment before going down to wander the streets of Las Vegas. Explore and get to know his surroundings. If this was the afterlife, there was a great chance that Sephiroth could be there. Kadaj...Loz...Yazoo...the list of enemies really didn't outweigh the list of friends who had passed on. But at least the enemies had passed on. The thought of Aeris didn't even hit him until he was halfway down the block and he caught some people trying to make a quick buck by selling roses on the street corner. He was almost surprised at himself for forgetting that if this had been the afterlife...she would be there. For some reason, Cloud had expected more out of the place that the Lifestream could have sent them when they joined it.

He really did want more for her.

A sigh escaped him as he walked on. He hadn't thought twice of trying to fight in around the city. Where people were sporting shorts and the like, he was wearing his same old outfit. His Fusion Sword hanging low off his back and getting a couple of odd looks from other pedestrians as he kept on the move. At least he still had that on him. If there had been some way to have Fenrir there than he would have been set as far as transportation went. But he wasn't going to dwell on anything too much as he kept his arms to his sides as he moved through Vegas without too much thought on where he was going or who was around him.

It was a little more like fate when Cloud came to a stop in front of what seemed to be a steadily growing garden that he decided to investigate. He wasn't looking for anything to remind him of home. And Cloud wasn't wanting any nostalgic moments to make him feel like he was missing out on something more than what he had as he wandered through the garden. It felt a little more like Midgar than anywhere else in Vegas, which should have been saying something as he shut his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath.
