lol looked at the promo vids for kimutaku's Space Battleship Yamato
while I'm seriously impressed with the CG (waaaaay better than I expected)
...it's still, of course, not on par with such things like Star Trek and Avatar P:
like, i d k, some of the scenes' physics seems really cheesy. like, the debris wouldn't go that way, or the person wouldn't be thrown that way, or such things.
and somehow, japanese movies NEVER have the dramatic lighting that american movies do. american movies have crazy contrast--shadows are often pitch black, which ups the...seriousness? of the scene? i d k. japanese movies have like zero contrast D|;
