I've been really feeling like I want to quit Sears lately. It's just...not what it used to be, I guess. I've gotten to the point where I kind of dread going to every shift. Not sure what happened, exactly. I want to go home more, my grandma's not been doing too well. But I need to be making more money...especially if come graduation I can't ( Read more... )

Yes there is. For as much as I don't want to be there anymore, some of the people I work with are truly wonderful. Like Renee, who will be there tonight for 13 hours because she insisted I go home (I'm feeling sick on top of everything else). There absolutely is such a thing as team.

While there is such a thing as team, you can't stay with a job just because you think you're going to be leaving them at a bad time. Trust me, I tried and then had my ass chewed out by my then boss because I was being stupid.

You have to do what is right for you. The company you work for will go on, the people you work with will understand. I assure you that even if they are upset about extra work, they will still understand and some might even wish they were you.

On the topic of finding something that works with your schedule this well...

You've said that a lot. You are not going to know until you try. You work in an area that is teaming with college students. Where do you think their employee populations come from? College students. I bet you that more companies have the options/ability more than you think.
