Life's a big ice cream. Have it before it melts

There's an old man who works in appliances at Sears Hardware named Henry. He's a jovial looking guy, not one of your grumpy crabby old men. He must have dentures because his teeth are so young compared to the rest of him. Henry dropped out of school in the 5th grade and began to work. For 30 some odd years he was employed as a construction worker where all a man needed was "a strong back and a weak mind." He then became a locksmith before retiring and going back to school to get his GED. Henry must be a least 70 now and he sells refridgerators and washing machines and works with kids like me who just need some cash before we go off to college.

I like listening to old men talk. Usually they ramble, but who doesn't? Imagine all of the things they've seen, the loves they've won (and lost), the songs they've heard, the words they've read, the dogs they've petted, the girls they've kissed, the miles they've driven, and the hours they've waited to pass that maybe now they wish they'd spent doing something better.

I wish my grandfather was still alive. I need an old man to tell me a story of something that happened long ago...
