Taking a break in my viewing marathon, I was reading some of the Drewsline transcripts I'd never read before. Found (and copied) the transcript of the taping that has the Holy Grail of Ryan/Colin kisses, the Lone Ranger and Tonto Whose Line kiss in it. At least now I know, based on the other episodes where some of the games from this taping were played, what to look for when I'm searching to find this kiss that I've never seen.
Couple transcripts down, something was written that made me feel all warm and squishy inside. It comes after a playing of Helping Hands where Colin 'forces' Ryan to drink some oil, and some wine. Apparently, someone asked Ryan if the oil was really oil and he said he didn't think so, but that the wine was real. He then took the wine and asked Luke (Colin's son) to please save the bottle for "uncle Ryan".
I guess I find it incredibly sweet because, at least the way I was raised, you only called another adult "uncle" if he was your real uncle (i.e. one of your parents' brothers by birth or marriage) OR if the adult in question was very, VERY close to the parent of the child being talked to. I mean, growing up, my folks had alot of friends, but I called most of them Mr. or Mrs. when I met them. Unless they were my parents' BEST friends. Them I called "Uncle Don" and "Aunt Char".
That Luke calls Ryan "Uncle Ryan" and that Ryan refers to himself that way to Luke just makes me grin with warm contentment. *G*
