Too cute

As everyone knows, I have two chihuahuas. One is about 12 or 13 (I think) and the other is going to be two next month.  In the infested rathole I live in, I have this heater...type...thing that is as dangerous as hell but does heat the house, little as both are.  It's about six feet high and one foot wide and goes through the wall of my living room into my bedroom.  It's like all vents from top to bottom.  At the bottom in the living room is a door and when you open it, you have access to the pilot light and the controls...er...control.  One knob.  Turn it one way, the heat comes on.  Turn it the other, the heat goes off.  Forget and turn it the wrong way and when you come back from a day at the lake, you walk into a 100 degree house with panting dogs.

Anyway, here in Atlanta, where it's already supposed to be in the 80's this time of year, it's below freezing.  I'm looking for my older chihuahua cause they ain't bred for cold and besides, she's old.  Where do I find her?  Right next to the heater, with the door somehow open, toasty as a lizard lying in the sun in Phoenix in the sunshine.  She's NEVER laid there before.  She just looked so cute, but since the door was open, all the flames were about five inches away from her, so I moved her.  She didn't like that very much.  Now she's lying under a bunch of covers.  But it WAS cute.  Old little bugger.

Nothing really keeping me here now anyway, so maybe I SHOULD take the settlement the hospital's offering and just go back to Phoenix.  Something for sure is telling me to.
