woot for music!

I've finally sorted out my 6GB of music that has been lost to me since all the cheap cdroms it was on decided they wouldn't work any more. So i'm purposefully listening to the most random collection of music possible. Yey!

It is almost but not quite keeping my mind off the agony sciatica is putting my back and right leg through. Since last thursday the only thing i can do that isn't painful is standing up. This makes lectures terribly amusing as well as sitting down to have meals, talk to people in a relaxed, chilled way, mooch on my bed, cycle to and from uni, take a shit and generally have a life. I mean amusing in the sense that it is unbelievable anything so simple could be so dabilitating. If i do happen to accidentally sit down or feel my knees and back would like to relax for a while i have to spend about 20 minutes stretching my back and leg just so i can stand over 5ft tall and not look like Igor the hunchbacked evil henchman. Then after i've done that it takes about half an hours hobbling for the searing battery acid-like feeling in my leg to go away. Yey! but obviously me being me doesn't let this depress me. I just turn to livejournal to tell my story to the world and try and get some attention :-D I've also decided that once it's all over (a matter of months i've been informed) i will have a party to celebrate. Or maybe just announce it as a celebratory occasion to go out, get drunk and be my old bouncy self again. Hopefully this will be some time before christmas. I'm going to go see the physiotherapist on thursday and as soon as i have some free time i'm gonna start yoga which is apparently the best thing for it.

Free time should come at the start of november once the pagan celebration of samhuinn (pronounced sowan or samhain), the celebration of the coming of winter, has past. I'm going to be part of the wild hunt representing the dominant force of black energy during winter. It's not evil, just unknown and powerful and responsible for killing the weak to let new life come in the summer. It's going to be on the mound between the galleries on the night of halloween. If you've never heard of it or seen it it's basically lots of crazy people dressed up in amazing costumes symbolically acting out the beginning of winter and the end of summer. It's completely free and lots of fun. So i have about 2 weeks to get my costume sorted out and go to all the rehearsals while doing all my incredibly interesting uni work at the same time. Then there's also all those fun distracting things like playing guitar, geas, social life and cat. Oh woes of having a life, so much fun and so little time :-D
