you see i have this penchant for movies with dreamy, dreamy cinematography. sort of like, it's too bright, the grass is too green, the sky is blue, the kind of blue you dream of and see rarely. the clouds they move slowly, or here, the light is too bright. or movies that are sad and move slowly, that take their time. i like brightness, and sadness and great good dialogue that flows off and it so arty that even if you feel it is contrived, it melds and flows.
like that scene in garden state where they hug in the bathtub. the endless walking scenes from pride and prejudice. the opening sequence from 28 days later. i like it when it's real but it is so obviously not real, because, because. eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. this japanese movie i watched years ago where she is in pain and he is in pain and he stands in a field and screams and screams and screams. and she launches herself from a tower and all we see is that now she has bare feet, because her shoes flew off with the suicide.
