I've decided that I'm not going to let the little things that normally frustrate me bother me anymore. Life is too short to worry. Thanks Liz and Christopher.
Today was the March to End Child Poverty. "A walk from Saint Rose Activity Center to The State Capital." We stopped off at Suny Albany first and watched some girls do a step dance. It was pretty great if I do say so myself. Then we marched to the capital chanting "Hey Hey, Ho Ho, Poverty has got to go!" We had noise makers as well. We listened to a handful of speakers, one of them being my professor, Barbara Smith. Their speechs were of statistics, their own dealings with poverty and how we can help to end poverty.
At the end we scrambled to the buses. Of course they were all crammed so I dragged Arleigh and Jeff on a 45 minute walk back to Saint Rose. Needless to say, when we were a couple of blocks away from the school we saw the same buses we had tried to get on. There was a dinner afterwords with another speaker from an organization called H.A.C. I don't recall her name but she was so grateful to the March. Today was a rewarding and informative day. I wish I had known all of this sooner and helped to do something before hand. There is never too late for now though.
