So today and yesterday, we studied the Cold War. Yes, this class is giving me lots to talk about. lol though not so positive. We watched a documentary on the building of the Hydrogen bomb--scary stuff!!!! it's like 40x stronger than the average nuclear bomb that We dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima!! And it was only because of a Hungarian's paranoia of the Soviet Union that we even built one! The rest of the scientist who were there during the WWII bombing saw the devistation in Japan and decided against ever using a nuclear weapon again. Even Truman agreed, nonetheless I guess he was pressured into it. The stupid propaganda we had of Duck and cover...lol what makes you think you could possibly survive a nuclear blast?! It's like when the Marines took control of the airports on 9/11...they didn't even carry bullets! They were there so we'd feel safe. God, so what then if an asteroid is going to anilate Earth? ohhhhh I can't wait to hear what they're going to say!! LOL But I guess you could say what irritates me the very most is the selfishness of humanity 40 years ago! Two countries were willing anahilate civilization just because they didn't like each other and no one would be here typing this... I'm sorry. Don't care what justifcation they had. Not good enough! Kennedy almost pressed the button and it was going to be just like Dr. Strangelove (I wonder if they were parodying what would've happened if he did?). I dunno. I just hope we're still not that selfish. I think we're more educated on nuclear weapons too...to know that there is consequences no matter what. Back then, they didn't concider that, and that's scary man.
