Lessons

Sometimes Den makes stuff up to get people to feel more comfortable around him. Like he'll say he's really bad at surfing (he's not) because girls (and some boys) think it's sort of cute and the ocean is totally totally an aphrodisiac (which is why Den loves the beach).

Den sort of loves being around happy people, and happy people are people in love, so Den kind of likes when people love him. His dad would probably call that something Latin, especially with his ability and stuff, and Den would say "k, Dad" and then hang up the phone. Not that his dad calls him much, especially when he's out on the road promoting a book or something.

But Den really can't cook. Also, Den really doesn't like making stuff up to get Rogue to like him (or using his abilities). He wants Rogue to like him for him, the way Wanda does. Den wrinkles his nose. He hasn't seen Wanda in awhile, he hopes she's okay. But Rogue is on her way over to teach Den how to cook stuff, and Den bought a special apron for the occasion (it says "Kiss the Cook" and he's only wearing a tank top under it, natch) so he makes a note in his phone to call Wanda later that night and make sure she's good (not that he'd know what to do if she weren't).

He checks his watch and bounces a little, wandering back and forth from the kitchen to the door. Den's sort of, but not exactly, nervous. Sort of because Rogue is fun and flirty and gets him like only Wanda does (and Troy, he should call Troy), and it's always nerve wracking to hang with people like that. Nerve wracking and awesome, and Den just goes with the awesome.

The buzzer buzzes and he scampers over to the intercom to let Rogue in, smoothing his apron down. When she gets to the door he's leaning in the doorway, grinning happily. Den loves being happy, and being around people like Rogue, especially when they're happy, makes him happiest. "Hiya!"

She wiggles her fingers in hello, hefting a bag full of supplies in his general direction, and Den makes a broad motion back towards his kitchen.

On the way back, Rogue smacks him soundly on the rear end. Den giggles. She giggles back.

Then they get cooking.
