ALL THAT SHIMMERS IN THIS WORLD IS SURE TO FADE AGAIN.

Strip me from the rocks and walk ways
Watch my heart unfold
Everyone seems too frantic here
I'm coming home

I've been so inconsistent with my posting lately. (I secretly hope it's a good sign that I'm mugging more thus having less time to come online & I'm secretly trying to comfort myself with it.)

'Tis National Day today :) Happy Birthday, Singapore!, I guess.

It's kind of sad how the older you grow, the less the patriotism hits you. Sure, I've learnt to be grateful for this little teeny-weeny island that's so comfortable, efficient, prosperous, safe - inserts ninethousandsevenhundredandfive more positive glowing terms here - place, albeit it small. But something's just missing. Prolly the attachment; think apathy is largely due to the fact that we live generally smooth-sailing and crises-free lives here. It's a vicious cycle, really: the relationship between life here and the love for it.

Anyhoo, Celebrations yesterday were so boring ): Sigh, I'm terribly sorry, HC and all the other people involved in trying to make the whole gig cool. But it just didn't connect with me, y'know? Wasn't feelin' it as much as I did when I was back in Cedar. But then again, as I've taken extra care to phrase it politically right before: you always only appreciate it most when you're going through it (i.e. being the planners of the event). And, this, is only justified for events at a school level, of course. I mean, I'm sure people enjoy the NDP Celebrations, don't they? (Or not..?) Hah :D

Oh, I've got photos of the Fashion Parade, though. Been too lazy to upload 'em! Shall do so, soon. D:

Kwanie's Farewell in the evening. I'm going to miss him. ): TWO WHOLE YEARS IS A CRAZY LONG TIME.

I printed this photo for him. Haha, it never fails to crack me up every time I see it; we look so gay!!! :D:D

We watched the Beijing Olympics 2008 Opening Ceremony on the huge big screen TV in the Liew family's house. Zomg I swear it took super long I was dying. Waited ages and ages just for Singapore to appear, and it it didn't. ): Left before it came on. Watching it was a total waste of time. I really have no idea why we were watching it but anyhoo Jeremy, Jen Wei, Terence, Sam, Elsie, Rachel and I had this awesome time commenting on all the countries :) Hah.

Terence sent me home and we didn't get lost! Achievement much :D

camwhorage, birthday, beijing olympics 2008, national day, farewell
