It's been a long day. Long couple of days, if Kait was being honest. Which she wasn't, given one of those days involved shattering both her lower legs.

But here is Milliways, which tends to promise food, and a boy-shaped thing, and she can smell said boy-shaped thing...

But she can't see him. Frowning, the girl pauses, and turns her head this way and that. Trying not to be obvious about it, she follows the scent to...

A man who looks nothing like Sam.

But who smells exactly like him.

Her first thought is a disguise of some kind, a test like her her teachers often set her. If so, he's not actually doing a good job, magic or no. He is still sitting like Sam, still smelling like Sam, still moving like Sam.

Kait takes a step closer, debating if she should point out the flaws in his disguise or not.

He looks up and jumps when he notices her and isn't sure what to do.

This plan isn't working like its meant to.

Still eyeing him, Kait takes a seat. Still eyeing him, saying nothing, she reaches over and takes the bread roll from his hands.

Well, he's not eating it, and she's hungry.

"You still smell like you," she says after a moment.

"I don't think anyone at home will notice that. They haven't so far. I was able to buy a sword without a problem and I didn't mean to come here,"

He's gotten looks but that's because he's a Traveler.

"Yes, but not as bad as it could be. The rest of its fine, this is one of the best illusion spells I've done,"

This is important, he did put time and effort into this and its working.

"Oh, the rest of it good - although, you're still sitting a bit like Sam, you need to sit like...whoever you are being.

Who are you being?" Implied, and why?

"Sam the Traveler so I can meet up with Nick and keep him from getting in more trouble. No one else notices those sorts of things. I might have a problem if I had to deal with Ellimere but she thinks I'm studying in my room, I even created a Sending."

"A spell that looks enough like me to tell people to go away just as long as they don't look at it from the side."

"Yes, I won't be gone long and this will be quicker. I'll get to Nick and bring him back to Belisaere and everything will be fine,"

He's trying to convince her and himself since its not running away as he's helping Nick. It sounds more desperate than he quite means since he barely slept at all last night and he's been wandering around the crowded market and now found Milliways.

"Um, yes. I just need to buy a horse and then I'll be on the road,"

He moves his arm behind his head in an awkward motion that ruins the disguise even more since he's worried about what she's going to say.

"Have you," she says, speaking very precisely, "completely lost all sense of duty and...sense that you possess?"

"No, I haven't. If something happened to Nick it would cause even more trouble. This won't take very long and then I'll be able to help with everything else,"

Its not running away, he's helping, it is and he can do this.
