i'm not sure what to think. I have many options in mind. I think humanity is coming up to a huge jump in evolution. what matters physically isn't going to be so important anymore. I think our minds are unbelievable. They dont' die. Our bodies, perhaps...but not our minds. How could they? Heaven and Hell doesn't seem real to me. Maybe its like (i don't know if you played this game or not) but maybe its like final fantasy 7 where the earth has a lifesource or force and when we die we return to that...whether it be the earth or in space or time or whatever. who knows. i think thats the magical part of life. that nobody knows.
I never played final fantasy 7, so that one is a new analogy for me. However, I understand what you are saying...I remember at one point in my life thinking the idea of reincarnation. The idea of being reborn and the idea of remembering details from lives previous really intrigues me.

This I believe. Its only logical to me. Yet, Thinking about how many people were on this earth hundreds of years ago, and thinking about how many people are on this earth today frightens me. It makes me wonder if there are enough "souls" to go around. That, I feel is the only arguement I would have towards reincarnation.
yeah I could see that being a very big reason to worry about the idea of reincarnation, but I tend to follow more of the hindu version of the belief when I think about it because they believe that people can come back as an animal as well. so it kinda leaves the possibilities limitless, which is what I like about it. even if I came back as a mosquito, its all good

hmmm....thats kind of a good question, of course at that point you would almost have to assume that animals have the ability to process that deep of thought, which I don't think they are capable of, otherwise we would not be at the head of the curve. Don't get me wrong, animals are extremely intelligent and I don't doubt that some of them feel as though we do, but I'm not sure that they would ever be able to feel that void of not having purpose. Along those same lines, animals don't have other animals telling them that they need to know who they are, because they come knowing who they are and how to function. We are programmed by our surroundings and our experiences. We learn that if we do something and have a negative outcome not to do it again. Not all animals are capable of that type of lateral thinking.

it makes me think then that maybe we were just an experiement gone wrong. animals really seem to have it going on. ha. i mean, think about it. do they suffer? and i don't mean, by human influence either.
haha yeah some animals have it made, but some have it rough you know? like the ones who live in the african desert and what not. It's kind of a crap shoot for them too. I think we were an experiement...but i don't think there is anything wrong with us. I think we search for our answers in the wrong things. For me...i look for the joy in the life that is around me. My friends, family, the things that I have to utilize everyday like the technology side of the world. I was kinda thinking about this the other day when I was driving. It was the first time I had ever really watched a bird land, I mean...really land on the pavemant. It was extremely majestic and I forgot about how I want to take joy out of the little beauties in life. If more people focused on bettering people over themselves, religion would die. I hate to say it. but its the truth.

things like you seeing the bird land while you were driving are the things that turned me away from atheism. little things, or things that i always thought were little, really aren't that little, they're the purpose of life. just being alive is amazing. the universe is amazing. everything and the fact that it just is..is amazing. if that makes sense. because think about it. there are either two options. life and existence or nothing. and the simple fact that life won over nothingness is ...there aren't words for it..
I couldn't agree with you more. Life is what got me into taking pictures. I tend to find the beauty in the most random places. but it is what keeps me from falling away from the idea of a God. granted, he may not be the God the bible speaks of or anything along those lines. It is too hard for a mind to comprehend things like that I think. I would much rather just look around me every day, take a deep breath and say that I'm glad i woke up. So i'm with you there. This has been quite an interesting conversation. haha

Well, i don't believe God is a him or a her. God is more of an it...or a force or energy that holds all of life together. you could say he's the higgs boson. God is the missing part of every equation...
yeah i'm not gonna lie, I had no idea what the higgs boson was until just now...i have to wiki that. You are quite in tune with a lot of the things that seem to be going on around you.
