IC INFORMATION
NAME: Kanda Yuu
SERIES: D.Gray-man
HISTORY: Kanda has one purpose in his life, which his training and his reasons for being an exorcist will (he hopes) lead him to in the end, and that is to find “that one person”. No, he’s not Sasuke. There hasn’t been anything else revealed about this specific person canonly yet, not even whether it’s a woman or a man or if Kanda’s related to them. Kanda states that he will never allow himself to die before finding this person, however hard the search may become. He doesn’t like to talk about the matter either, (so you probably won’t find out much about it from him, or his mun, until more is revealed in the series.) and he doesn’t appreciate people asking him about his past and his childhood. This, somehow made him decide that at an age of ten become and exorcist and train under Froi Tiedoll. He travelled with him for about a year before joining the other exocists at the order, meeting Lenalee for the first time and being mistaken for a girl by her, much to his dismay. At the age of 12, Kanda got to taste soba for the first time and since then he wouldn’t eat anything else, smitten with what he thought was a delicious taste.
Kanda isn’t introduced until he met Allen for the first time. The gatekeeper mistakes Allen for and Akuma, and Kanda is first in place to attack him, damaging Allen’s anti-akuma weapon in the process. He doesn’t stop his attack until Lenalee comes out and bops him on the head with a writing tablet. Even though Allen tries to introduce himself to him, Kanda brushes him off with a “as if I’d shake hands with a cursed person”. Later on, Allen and Kanda clashes several times, and their mutual dislike grows more and more. Kanda starts calling him moyashi and Allen is in general disliking the way Kanda treats the Finders. However, despite their obviously bad personal chemistry, they are paired up when Allen gets his first mission to find the innocence in Matel. Upon finding it, after tough fights back and forth with a level 2 akuma, Kanda wants to take it from the living doll, Lala, against her and her friend’s wish. Allen doesn’t like this at all and they start an argument over it, until the level 2 appears on the scene. Allen starts the fight with it, but his innocence goes trough a rebound and Kanda steps in, despite his serious wounds, and protects Allen. He grew so annoyed by the fact that Allen didn’t seem to hold onto life, only throwing it away. They destroy the akuma together in the end. Even if Kanda’s wounds were serious, they heal in about three days, thanks to the lotus, and he immediately departs on another mission where Kanda and his teammates, Noise Marie and Daisya Barry, travel to find Tiedoll and get stuck in a city because of akuma. Daisya is killed by Tyki Mikk, and you can see how it gets to them. They continue in search of their master and upon finding him, they together travel to Edo to help General Cross’ group fight the Millennium Earl. Kanda arrives just in time to save Chaoji from Tyki Mikk who captured Lenalee. Kanda battles him until Tyki throws Lenalee at Kanda to throw a large blast agains them, only to be blocked by Lavi and his hammer. Kanda then takes down the huge Akuma that no one else could fight. After it all, Kanda enters the Ark together with Lavi, Krory, Allen and Chaoji to save Lenalee who got kidnapped again, this time by Lero.
Inside the ark, Kanda battles the Noah Skin Bolic, so the other’s could go ahead. This is one of the most intense battles Kanda has had so far and he suffers severe injuries but defeats Skin though at the cost of some of his life since he used “Sangenshiki”. It is an ability that increases his speed and strength dramatically, but at the same time, uses up some of his own life. Mugen is broken and shattered into pieces, but the parts of the sword is still working as an innocence when he finally kills Skin. Though, when the Ark collapses, he’s too late to reach the door out and is “killed” with the others who got left behind in the place. Later, when Allen restores the Ark, Kanda and the other “lost” exorcists are revived. The return to the human living world is not really something Kanda finds amusing since he’s forced to stay in the infirmary along with the others. He tries to leave, but Tiedoll stops him. After a while, he is released and returns to his quarters. His innocence is by this time still in pieces, and is slowly being repaired by Komui, and because of that, Kanda protects Komui with a normal sword when the level 4 akuma attacks the HQ. He fights it with all his strength and takes a lot of damage to protect Komui, Lenalee and Hevlaska. Both he and Lavi helps Allen when he fights the akuma, taking hold of his sword to steady him. The akuma is in the end destroyed by general Cross because “it burnt his hair”. After it all, Kanda has a bet with Allen about cutting all of his hair off is he looses a swordfight with him. He wins, as he himself predicted. Though, no hair was cut off.
Later on, Kanda and Lavi accidentally get one of Komui’s potions poured over them during the process of moving the HQ and they turn small. Allen and Tincampi get’s long hair and Lenalee and Bookman starts talking cat-language. Upon all this crack, the HQ is invaded by a ghost who infests Krory with a virus, making him a zombie. He bites others, and it spreads throughout the whole place. Bak Chan comes in the end and restores the chaos and returns everyone to their original forms. There’s no need to actually evaluate more on this part, so I’ll leave it like this. Continuing, repairing the headquarters and eventually getting his crushed innocence back in one piece as a new Mugen, we don’t see much of Kanda, but that’s only for a few chapters where they investigate Allen being revealed as the fourteenth Noah, and Cross getting killed. We see Kanda upon the investigation of the Mysterious Thief G as he’s visiting the chief police officer in charge of the case. He runs into his daughter, who immediately falls for him, and Kanda either doesn’t care, or notices, and there is where the suspicions of him being either not interested, (fanonly believe to be gay) or simply just dense. I’d say he’s very not interested. Maybe a little dense in the area too. Comes with the not!interest. During this investigation, Kanda acts very cold and angry, he talks a little more than usual, but doesn’t even pull from being rude and meant to Miranda of all people. He doesn’t even keep from threatening a child, even if it turns out that that child is The Mysterious Thief G. He definitively has become more cruel. He also looks more and more manly. They are tricked by an akuma when they enter the house where the child lives, an orphanage, and they are trapped in a different dimension, Allen’s akuma-seeing eye sealed, rendering them more helpless to attacks. This is from where I will be taking my Kanda.
PERSONALITY: Drawn back and annoyed to an extent. Doesn’t think much of people in general and usually deems most persons he meets as idiots. He’s has a foul mouth when he gets upset enough to use more words than the usual hn, hm, hrm, tch, che, whatever, not my problem, …” the dots being the most frequently used answer. He isn’t very talkative, and would most likely answer anything you say with the recently stated words. He hides his emotions most of the time and claims that other people’s worries are none of his business, and that he doesn’t care, even though he reacts very fiercely to advances and pastimes by others. Can get trough as cold and indifferent, but there’s evidence that he actually cares for his co-workers even if he doesn’t want to bother showing it. Getting attached to someone means taking responsibility to actually feel those emotions and letting them cloud ones judgement. Kanda prefers to be cold and calculating. He doesn’t appreciate other’s butting into his life and very often ends up threatening people with his sword (Mugen) for coming too close to him. Invasion of his personal space can very well lead to near-decapitation, so take it easy.
He dislikes a lot of things, maybe a little too many of them. And there are probably more of them than those he points out on his own; naïve people, people who won’t keep their promises, cursed people (all which applies to Allen Walker, a person Kanda despises, but still views as a fairly capable exorcist now, after have known him for a while. Doesn’t change the fact that he hates him though), people who won’t stop talking shit, people who call him by his given name (these two applies to Lavi the most). He hates when people call him by his given name, as stated, and there are two who does, Lavi and Tiedoll. He doesn’t appreciate that Tiedoll acts like his father when he most clearly is not. He calls Allen moyashi (beansprout) because of his short height, thinking that it’s below him to even use his real name. He also hates sweet things, like cake and such. Don’t try to feed him cake, seriously. He only eats different kinds of soba or sometimes tempura.
Kanda is very stubborn and he hates losing. If it was necessary, he could fight until his death, but so far, thankfully, he’s survived. He has a strong mind and is determined to reach his goal once it’s set, without straying off to things on the side. He deems most activities for fun as stupid and time consuming and doesn’t waste time to indulge in such frivolous activities. He is devoted to his work and could be called a very extreme workaholic. He doesn’t care much about anything else, as long as he gets the work done. Even so, he doesn’t actively try to harm innocent people and isn’t mean to the average man. (Unless you’re Lavi, Allen, or perhaps Komui or someone he’s got to know. But then again, they’re not the average man.) It depends on said person’s level of idiocy. He’s neutral in most cases and would leave the matter (and the place) if it weren’t in his interest or didn’t favour his objective or mission in any way. Even if you’re teasing him, getting inside his skin means not getting harmed, well, too much, when he’s angry. If he doesn’t draw his sword, and only settle so for yelling at you, consider yourself lucky. Pushy people may get either minced, or just ignored. He has the ability to get used to the annoying people, but it doesn’t mean he will stop harming them if it goes too far. Kanda enjoys fighting to an extent too, and he miiiight get humorous a times, often sarcastically or laughing in spite, but those moments are very few and a far between~
Others… he likes gardening, and to make soba. Has the ‘worst blood type’; AB.

Please take into consideration that these two links leads to two different Kanda in two different RPs. Also the fact that even if I describe Kanda like this in my app here, he may not be acting as cruel in these logs as he would doing coming from the part in the series where I’m taking him from. Even if I made canon updates in these games, Kanda has been affected by them and the people he has met during his stay there, so he isn’t that spazzy or mean as he is canonly right now. ^^; I’m sorry if this sounds weird or confusing, just ask if there’s anything you’re wondering about.
