Sylar's been on edge ever since Smokey had told him about meeting one of her keepers in the Nexus. It was unlikely that they'd be able to track him or Smokey down, but- well, just look at her. Clearly, they were well-versed in making the impossible happen ( Read more... )

The thud and strange change of location certainly do the job of waking her. She's still kind of out of it, but now she's also freaking out.

"What? What the fuck, Sylar?!" She's a bit miffed about the wake up call and glares at him before nearly falling off the counter.
"What are you talking about? Where are we going? Why?"

Smokey gets to her feet and turns the sink on to start splashing her face with cold water. They were offered as good a deal as they're liable to get. They'd be taken care of and she'd get her meds. She doesn't see the problem. With all of Sylar's powers, if the lab people turned on them they could just slaughter every one of them. What's to worry about?

Sylar's eyes close, then slowly blink open- his PINpoint flies through the living room and into his hands. "Your friends didn't wait very long. I don't think they plan on asking you again. I should leave you to them." Idiot girl, he's not going to be caught again. Not by these people.

He grabs Smokey roughly by the shoulder and pulls her away from the counter. With his other hand, he taps buttons on the PINpoint. They're briefly treated to a view of sand, desert as far as the eye can see, before the world flicks back to the familiar view.

"What?" He hits a few more buttons on the device. How could they disable a PINpoint?

"You wouldn't! Don't threaten me!"

Woken up and now threatened with abandonment? Sylar used to be a much better pet. He's being very very naughty today. She should hand him over to them and let them know everything about him. That would show him!

She wants to get away too, though, so discipline can wait for later. She watches him hit buttons on the pinpoint and then watches as it fails utterly.

"Uh oh..."
They've likely sent psychic fomori or paid Nephandi to track them down. They're sort of screwed now.

"They're circling the house," he says, more than a little panicked right now. He sorts through his abilities- there has to be some tool he can use. If only he'd managed to kill the teleporter ( ... )

Sylar may take the time to think through options, but giving up corporeality is almost always Smokey's first plan of defense. Especially when running away isn't possible. Despite being mad at him for blaming her, she clings to Sylar, expecting him to think of a way to save them, but ultimately he comes to the same decision she would have on her own. It's just as well. She feels safer this way.

Smokey follows Sylar's lead, turning to a pale mist and drifting upwards, intermingling with him as they slip into the air vents. They'll get out of the house and away from here. It's brilliant. Or would be, if this wasn't exactly how she always tries to escape and exactly how they expect her to try to escape. Tape and plastic are already being applied to all of the windows and strong plastic biohazard bags have been taped over external vents. Pentex thugs watch the bags like rabbit traps, waiting for them to fill up so they can be tied off and taken back.

As soon as he realizes he's caught, he makes himself solid again. He's caught rather tightly, but he focuses and the bag rips open. He's about to turn to mist again when an incredible pain rips through his head. He's gotten through this sort of pain before, he thinks. It hurts, but he just has to focus. They have to get away.

He closes his eyes and holds his head in between his hands. "Stop. Stop it," he murmurs as he drops to his knees.

Two black spiral dancers wait outside the torn plastic, grinning huge mouths full of sharp teeth. The appearance of the beasts in their crinos form can cause madness in normal people, but the formori are mostly immune. It's still enough to make a more sane person piss their pants. Smokey's just used to them.

Further away, a handful of offensive fomori --some using psychic abilities to hold the pair in place and limit their actions, others huge and horrific and waiting to stop them physically-- and others present only because they can neutralize the powers of others. The labs spared no expense on this one.

Smokey fights her way out of the bag only to drop down, feeling defeated at the feet of the werewolves. She tries to turn to mist again, planning to kill one of the animals, but she can't and she's already getting very hot.
"...Let us go! I would have come back, but you assholes had to pull this shit!"

Sylar fights to open his eyes and see what they're dealing with. It's difficult to pay attention to anything, but as he sees sharp teeth and impossible faces, it's easy to tells that they're pretty screwed ( ... )

Being blown up does not sound like a good way to spend the day. Smokey very much doubts she'd survive that and is a little distressed by Sylar's plan. There's a feeling of both relief and hopelessness when he fails, however.

She looks up at the young man and glares at him.
"Sylar didn't trust you. I fucking wonder why? ... What are you doing to him? Stop it! Stop it right now!"

The slight girl leaps at the man, ready to rip that smug grin off of his face with her bare hands. However, she is swatted to the ground by a giant paw. She curls up, a little disoriented, but the drugs keep her from feeling any pain. The sound of crinos werewolves laughing is a terrible one.

"Oh, come on, Smokey. I had it on good authority that you're much better behaved than this," the man says in mock disappointment. He looks over to his partner, who notices the glance and blinks a few times, rubbing his forehead ( ... )

"I'm tired of behaving. We don't like what it gets us."
This we has nothing to do with Sylar. She's so much more aware of the bane now. Closer to it, and yet pained that they're still split off from the wyrm itself. She speaks for both of them, because these people have no right to imprison either.

It doesn't really occur to Smokey to ask for her clothing back. She's used to ending up without it. She knows they'll be taken regardless, though, so she cooperates for now. If she can find a way out before they get to the labs, she'll leave Sylar behind to distract them. She's served her time, after all. He might as well do some while she thinks of how to get him out.

She gets up, brushing herself off and waits to be taken to one of the waiting black vans.

Sylar really just wanted more time, but he doesn't get that either. "You'll get new clothes," the red-headed man says as he hauls Sylar to his feet. "And Smokey? You might want to watch yourself. You'll find we're keeping a closer eye on you now."

Sylar sighs and pulls the man's hand off his arm as he straightens up. This is okay. He's ripped apart vehicles before. He tests his TK by trying to move a few leaves on a nearby tree- nothing yet. Echoes of the pain are still ringing through his head, although it's finally starting to die down.

He's shoved inside the van fairly quickly, not expecting gentle treatment and certainly not getting any. He sits and closes his eyes, listening to everything around him. He finds it usually helps him calm down.

Smokey sticks her tongue out because it's the best thing she can think of to do in response. Keeping a closer eye on her? They mostly kept her in a glass box before. How much closer could they get? She's going to have to kill all of them.

She's pushed into the back of the van and they're followed by one of the werewolves who takes his human form to fit better. The half-crazy looking young man with greasy, shoulder length brown hair chuckles and sits against the doors. He wears nothing but a ratty pair of black jeans and picks at his toes.
"Either of you moves and I'm allowed to make you stop however I want."
He laughs and Smokey pulls up into a tight, frightened ball. The spiral growls threateningly and laughs again.

Sylar eyes the werewolf carefully. Too much of this gets an annoyed grunt from the guy, almost another growl.

It takes about three minutes before Sylar is able to unscrew one of the bolts in the back, his test for control. He looks up at the greasy man again, who says angrily, "Hey, what's your fucking problem?"

"Nothing," he says. His lips curl upwards. He tilts his finger up and twitches it, drawing it in a quick line horizontally. The man separates neatly into two halves at the abdomen, and Sylar can see both the look of surprise and the upper torso trying to rebuild itself. He makes sure the two halves land on opposite sides of the van, then cuts the back of the van off entirely, leaving themselves open to the air.

He could just turn to mist and leave- maybe Smokey will. But he wants to kill every one of these bastards. If nothing else, it will be a message to whoever sent them. He breaks the driver's neck and stops the van, then steps gingerly out of it to find the second one.

The second van screeches to a halt and makes a hard turn the second the first van starts to come apart. The back doors are thrown open by the other spiral, coming to aid his pack mate. The psychics hold back, waiting for the crinos wolf to make it safer to move in.

Smokey is only just stepping out of the destroyed van when the beast approaching them howls loudly and the Earth starts to shake. The creatures moving at the wolf's will shake the ground violently; focussed earthquakes to take Smokey and Sylar off their feet. As the ground moves, darkness starts to roll in. A pitch blackness that stretches for ten feet square. Smokey tries to go to mist to save herself, but she stumbles and falls only to then be held to the ground by a bane spirit.

As soon as the light fades, the second string move in, pulling their night vision goggles down over their eyes and readying their guns as well as their natural abilities.

Rather than try to break free from the current trap, Sylar tries to decide what to kill these people with. It's dark, hard to concentrate (everything here is about confusion, isn't it?), but he can hear them ( ... )
