Another immortal. A woman by the name of Shijima. She looked like a young girl and had white hair.
I haven't found her. I believe she's probably disappeared. That, and that awful thing that happened to Kenzo... [his voice takes on that unwittingly childish tone] I just wanted to make sure you were okay.
Nothing I couldn't afford to break, anyway. Remy...wasn't a friend really. He didn't trust me, didn't like me, and given some history between myself and a girl...I don't see that changing. But he was useful and we needed his skills. Douglas...he...I am Jairus; he, my child.
--Is there anything I can do? It seems you're always grieving something and I don't know how that feels, the only person I ever loved lives on inside of me. [And Czeslaw hates him.]
I don't know what to say, what to offer. You always carry it so close to you and I hate to see you in pain.
[sarcasm] Is that so? And here I was going to ask if you'd take me to prom.
No, you didn't tell me, but I don't particularly care. So what? I'm sure you did what you had to. It was hard on you but you're a lot older than twelve now, you can make a better judgment call. Probably.
No I didn't have to. [He pauses, and there's a clatter - almost like someone skipping stones off pavement.] I wanted to. Bastard broke my arm. Payback was fun. [Yeah...clearly that temper hasn't tamed any.] My family ate for three months after that.

Czeslaw? What's wrong?

Ah. It has been a while. You haven't seen the building since we finished most of it.

Is it filled with lots of lively people now?

[A heavy sigh.] No. In fact two people just disappeared.

I'm...I put my fist through a wall in a few places but I'm fine otherwise.

...Well, as long as you didn't break anything. I'm sorry your friends are gone. I know how much they mean to you.

I have millions to morn Czes. [And that's not hyperbole either.] There's a reason I wear red.
[He laughs, it's a bit bitter.] I never really did know when to let things go. I was twelve when I killed someone. Did I ever tell you?

...Then you did the right thing. Not sure why it should bother you at all. People die all the time. It might as well be someone who deserves it.

It doesn't. Probably should but. [Another clatter.] He's part of the reason I started carrying a knife.
