Reminder Toy Drive for the Kids at Moveable Feast

Dec 06, 2007 19:44

 Hi Everyone,

Reminder - It's time again for the Annual Toy Drive sponsored by Play House for the children served by Moveable Feast - Moveable Feast is a 501(c) (3) charitable nutritional support organization that prepares and delivers meals and groceries at no charge to people and their families throughout greater Baltimore and Maryland’s Eastern Shore who are in need and living with HIV/AIDS, breast cancer and other life-challenging conditions - www.mfeast.org for more info.

Many of their clients have children and last year was the first time ever that they had enough toys to give every child they serve a holiday gift.  You ALL made that possible thanks to the generosity of our community through the support of BESS, the Annapolis Munch group, KatNOIR.com and the patrons of the businesses where several of our community members work.

This year we want to do even better so that each child can receive at least two toys and/or books for the holidays.   And a BIG shout out of THANK YOU to everyone who has already donated with a HUGE HUG to Sharon from BESS and her youngest son who have given a monster sized bag of toys!!!!!

But we still  need YOUR help!!!!

Please bring a new, unwrapped toy and/or children's book to any and/or every party you attend at Play House between now and December 19th or to any BESS meeting or function or to any Annapolis Munch event during the same time frame.  And don't forget - this Saturday's (Dec 8th) Annapolis Munch Eighth Anniversary Party is open to everyone  who gets this e-mail( RSVP required to xaladyx@aol.com)  as a way to say thanks for your support of the Annapolis Munch and the Toy Drive.

And/or drop off your donations of new, unwrapped toys and/or children's books at PowerXchange by nina located in the heart of historic Fells Point, just a block and half off of Broadway at 1724 Aliceanna St., Baltimore MD 21231 between 1pm and 7pm Wednesday thru Sunday.

And/or send Glenda an e-mail  (GlendaCPFA@aol.com) and we can arrange a time for you to drop off new, unwrapped toys and/or children's books at Play House or you can drop them off at Chained Desires located at 136 W Read Street between 11a - 8pm Tues thru Thurs, 11a - 9pm Fri & Sat.

And/or if you are in the Towson / Timonium area you may drop your donations off at Textur - a wonderful hair salon located at 1830 York Rd Suite C - next to the Scan store.

And/or if you are in the Washington, DC area, please drop your donations off at The Crucible (check www.the-crucible.com for their schedule) as Alric has volunteered to drive any toys and books collected there up to Baltimore for the kids.

And/or send a donation by check or money order payable to 'Moveable Feast' with Toy Drive referenced on the memo line to Play House Studios P O Box 41032 Baltimore, MD 21203 to arrive before Dec 15th.

And/or ask your friends and family to help and collect toys at your private gatherings between now and Dec 15th - we'll even arrange for pick up at your place of the gifts if you won't be downtown between now and the middle of December.

And/or ask your boss if you can collect toys at work - or even better - if you own your own business please ask your employees and patrons to contribute to this effort.

TOGETHER, we can help make the holidays brighter for lots of children whose lives are challenged every day by the severe illnesses affecting their families.

And for those of you who have been asking : Number of Children served by Moveable Feast - 90

Girls ages 0-5 yrs old - 4; Girls ages 6-11 yrs old - 15; Girls ages 12-18 yrs old - 27

Boys ages 0-5 yrs old - 8; Boys ages 6-11 yrs old - 16; Boys ages 12-18 yrs old - 20

So as you can see we need more donations targeted at the older kids.

Please help us get the word out about the toy drive by cross posting this notice wherever it would be appropriate and welcome and by encouraging your friends to help.  THANKS!

Thank You So Very Much and Have a Happy Holiday,

The Staff of Play House Studios - Glenda, Arthur, Nina, Levi and Patty
