I have such a sweet job that I spent the majority of yesterday getting paid to study for the math section of the GREs. After work, I pranced over to the library to get help with the stuff I couldn't figure out. I ended up with a man, "61 and a half", he said wearing what I thought were accidentally fashionable black framed glasses. Then I noticed the brand (ray ban) and realized no one accidentally pays hundreds of dollars. Which almost made it better. This guy was like "I'm a math nerd, I want to look like a math nerd, but I also want high quality frames." I love it. And he plays a fiddle he bought in 1976 that cost him $250. He found out recently that it's worth $10,000.
Anyways. I loved him. He made everything seem so clear and logical. And so quick too. He taught me how to do these really crazy problems really quickly. And at the end, after he asked me when I was taking the test, and I said "November" and he said "You're going to pass the GREs and I'm going to help you!" I'm going back again today.
And the tutoring is FREE!!!! You gotta love libraries at community colleges.
I feel like a new person. A math person. (almost) Well, at least I feel like I may be able to get through this stupid test after all.
Last night I had a dream that I had a birthday party in Milwaukee. What's weird was that is was snowing, but my birthday is in July. All my old friends were there, as well as my new ones. For those of you who know her, so was Joanne. She kissed me, on the mouth, as she wished me happy birthday. Her mouth was so gross, I instinctively spit after wards. Then I felt bad. As I do right now for saying she was gross. She can't help it, she's crazy. But why, oh why, was that a part of my dream?!
