History: Second child of Martine Chareut and the sole heiress of that prestigious and distinguished Diamond family, Claudia's upbringing and education was spared absolutely no expense. From early childhood, she was reared with the knowledge that she was a Chareut and therefore perfect by namesake. Held to a higher standard than other Diamond children, Claudia endured her mother's constant scrutiny from the time she began her schooling - with private tutors of the most excellent ranking, no less - on through her teens and early twenties.
Expected to be the gem in the Chareut crown, Claudia worked hard to please her mother, as Martine ruled her family with an iron fist, resolute to ensure her only daughter would rise to power and one day, God willing, sit upon the Diamond throne and therefore lift the Chareut family to the ultimate standing. Plotting every move in her daughter's career within the Diamond Suit, Martine eventually sent Claudia to first London, then New York to complete her college studies, Claudia earning her degree a year ahead of "schedule", but surprisingly, did not immediately return to the Suit to resume her duties as Martine's perfect puppet.
Eighteen months after graduating from college, Claudia returned and resumed her place within the Diamond Suit, attaining the rank of Nine and shocking both her mother and the rest of her immediate family by refusing to adhere to Martine's strict power-hungry regime. Martine was outraged, of course, but Claudia took advantage of her foreign education to threaten her irate mother with institutionalization by writ of mental instability if she refused to back down. Piqued by her daughter's unforseen betrayal, Martine withdrew, swearing to somehow regain the upper hand over her wayward daughter. Rather than waste time lowering herself to her matron's petty scheming, Claudia put her education to good use, applying for the position of Assistant HR Director under King Silas himself, and is now working diligently to attain her own goals, regardless of family ties.
Personality: Claudia is the epitome of Lady; her mother took careful pains to make it so. She is elegant, graceful, polished, poised...and absolutely loathes all of it. Although a Diamond born and bred, she dislikes superficiality and makes it a point to avoid it when possible. This gives her a somewhat cold and aloof demeanor, coupled with the fact that she wasn't allowed to socialize much with individuals of her own age-groups in the other Suits. She has never made friends easily, nor held any steady relationships, a fact which is of some concern, but secondary to her own personal agenda. Yet, she is polite when approached, and formality second nature.
Some describe her as "bitchy", which she can appear from a distance, but she is nevertheless a tireless taskmaster for herself, and expects those beneath her to adhere to the same high standard. She respects her family name, but her relationship with her mother has been strained within the past year, and Claudia has become the highest ranking member of House Chareut, with personal plans to advance higher still.
