cristiano ronaldo dos santos aviero....

I have supported Cristiano long enough to know in my heart the kind of person he is and the kind of character he has. But what he did said in a Portuguese newspaper interview truely set the limits on how much I respected that man and how much I appreciated his dedication not only to Manchester United but to football in general.

He wasn't a coward in the interview; he was someone to accepted full responsbility for what was said and the amount of speculation he caused. He became a true player--a true professional--a true man. I love him for who he is and what he represents. Many people will continue to doubt him, they will continue to lash out on him and they will continue to put words in his mouth. But he will not shy away from their lashings; instead he will face them and prove them wrong like he's done every single season of his career.

In my eyes, I still see him as a scrawny boy from Madeira who loves the game of football with his whole heart and would be completely happy and smiling even with just a football to kick around. I still see him as a caring man who wouldn't let anything harm his family, acknowledging that eventhough he is the youngest in his family, he strives to complete their needs with the belief that his father watches him every second if the day, blessing him and making him stronger emotionally as a person.

Behind the perfectly sculpted face, there lies a man who understands and appreciates what he has.

And I am so so so incredibly proud to say that he is my hero.

He is Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aviero.
