So she steps out of her room with care, seeing the backs of her 'family' facing the TV when Arcueid speaks. They were barely acquainted, but something still seemed... off. She's confused for barely a second before the fear kicks in. She edges away.]

Oh, you teenagers. Why don't you come in here and help your mother get dinner ready, then?

[Arcueid suddenly steps slowly into the living room. In her hand is a knife that is caked with blood...but has also been very obviously utilized for cooking as well. She's gently wiping it off with a dishrag and smiling toward Ami.]
I don't know what kinds of strange games you are playing to get out of doing your chores, but I'm not falling for it this time! [She doesn't sound angry, only cheerful, like a mother who loves her daughter very much.]
Now come in here and at least help your mother set the table! You know how hungry your father gets.

I have to go. [She grabs for a lie, what a drone might say, trying to avoid sudden movements-- as much as she wanted to just run-- and backing away.] I'm meeting friends.

[Aaand Ami's delicate balance of her panic is finally overwhelmed. Can she actually outrun her crazed 'guardian'? No, but her survival instincts bolt her towards the door, swinging it open.]

The moment Ami manages to get to the door, Arcueid will be upon her. Her hand wraps around the back of Ami's small, fragile neck as she pulls her back away from the door, far enough to see her not!mom's smiling face.]
Oh you teenagers are so rebellious! I'm afraid I am going to have to put my foot down on this one, dear. Sometimes children just need a little discipline. Just remember that mommy still loves you.
