Today was my first day of work. The long freezer wasn't working well, and it was wicked cold outside. Thank goodness for three things.
1) Marianne bringing me a sweater out of the goodness of her heart.
2) The hot fudge machine to keep my hands warm (no joke).
3) Liene's Bob Dylan tapes to keep me singing and believing in warmer days.
But no thanks to Conrad, my boss' friend from highschool. I don't know if I can handle listening to him talk about how rich and clever he is every time he 'drops by'. Also, I'm not gonna go to Las Vegas with you, Mr. 40+ year old man with a nervous twitch and a keen interest in my breasts!
My mother called. The house is being put up for sale on wednesday. Her leg and ankle are still broken, but now she's hired someone to help her for awhile. The whole time the television was on. At several points my mom would laugh out loud at inappropriate times, but the girl wouldn't admit to multi-tasking!
Tomorrow is a big day. I find out if I'm failing religion and if the play will go on as a play or if we stick to a staged reading. Please be the former.
yours,
Lucy
