I have definately spent the whole day researching Native Americans in California and the cultural genocide they faced. It's interesting how their extermination/assimilation was such a prominent characteristic of the Gold Rush, yet hardly any of us know about it. I've grown a new respect for them, and can't read a western novel with the same excitement; instead I cringe everytime there is an attack on the Comanches or read derogatory terms.
On another note, I have become engrossed with America's Next Top Model after first watching Tyra Bank's biography...it's all relative now and I can enjoy it for what it is...a display of her stength in accomplishing her lifelong goals (first modeling, then acting, now producing a show no one thought could make it). Anyone else watch it?
I will be one happy camper come Dec 14th and I'm done with exams!
Happy Advent anywho
