I found this prayer/adivce/poem booklet at my great aunt ethel's after she died. I'd completely forgot about it until today. There are two poems in it that I really like:
Before It Is Too Late
If you have a tender message,
Or a loving word to say,
Do not wait till you forget it,
But whisper it today;
The tender word unspoken,
The letter never sent,
The long forgotten messages,
The wealth of love unspent-
for these some hearts are breaking,,
For these some loved ones wait;
So show them that you care for them
Before it is too late.
-Frank Herbert Sweet
If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin,
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.
-Emily Dickinson
