The Daily Kos community has a large tag-team liveblogging effort covering the California wildfires. The "Mothership" post (which is staying on the front page "recommended diaries" list) has basic emergency information and always contains a link to the diary containing latest updates and ongoing discussion.
The diaries cover evacuation status and tips for humans and animals, shelter status, links to donate money or volunteer aid, maps, newsfeeds, and on-the-ground reports from folks in the area.
