Sept/Oct update!

Nov 05, 2013 10:38

The weather has really turned and it's snowing! A big change from my last post when it was shorts and t-shirts all day every day.

Kevin is 19 months old now!! I missed our 18 month update, so I'm going to cover both months in this update.

He had his 18 month check up and shots this month. This was his last set of shots until kindergarten, and I already scheduled his 2 year wellness check. Time just flies and flies.

In the past year, Kevin has gained three and a half pounds and grown four inches (and a little bit of hair). His current stats are 18lbs2oz and 29.5" tall - his head is measuring in the 4th percentile...which is his only measurement that falls on the growth charts. He has 7 teeth now, three on the bottom and four on the top.

He's right on track developmentally and his vocabulary has grown so much! He is learning animal sounds (mainly he knows dog and owl), body parts, manners (he says "thanks" and signs "please"), how to put on his clothes and shoes and how to clean up his toys.

His favorite words are "no" and "mine!" and lately he has been quite the demanding and challenging little toddler. We're toying with the idea of potty training soon, right now he poops on the potty but rarely pees still. "No more diapers for ducky" is his potty book and we read it quite often.

But sometimes he decides he would rather do tricks instead of sitting on the potty.

Kevin loves to do tricks and he loves to show off. Him and his dad have been working on this one, and they're getting pretty good at it.

Last month was the BYU/UTAH football game, so they celebrated rivalry day at daycare and all the kids came dressed in their football gear.

It was really adorable. Kevin and 3 year old Emma are so cute together:

(Kevin finally outgrew the shoes he is wearing in this pic! He still is wearing some size 2's but mostly is wearing size 3's)

And this is fun - the photo of Kevin and Ryan (top) was taken in 2007 and the photo of the kids was taken last month at daycare:

Day to day has been crazy busy. Big Kevin is still working at "Listen Tech" as the manager of sales operations and I am still working 4 days a week at Sam T Evans running the office. I get Kevin ready and drop him off and pick him up from daycare each day, so by the time we get home in the evenings it's almost 6pm and already dark (now that daylight savings just passed).

On the weekends we enjoy watching football and soccer, going to the park, going out with friends and family, and of course going to RSL soccer games with these fine folks:

This pic of Kevin and his dad watching the US play a world cup qualifying game was taken last month:

Halloween just passed! Little Kevin LOVED it. Trick or treating was so much fun for him. He doesn't yet say "trick or treat", but he sure knows how to fill up his pail with candy and flirt with strangers! Before we left every porch he would make sure he was the last one left and do a cute little goodbye wave accompanied with "bye!"

He was a fox for Halloween. He loves the song "what does a fox say" (you can watch a really adorable video of him dancing to it here:

I made his costume off of a pattern I found online. It was my first big sewing project and I'm pretty proud of it. We went up to Logan last weekend for the "pumpkin walk" and he wore his costume

On Halloween day we went to the little party at daycare and got costume pics with all of the cuties at daycare, and then we went to Listen Tech for trick or treating at dad's work...followed by going to Kevin's friend Alex's house in Lehi for dinner and trick or treating

That's all for now. We are loving our busy lives and we are looking forward to the holidays! I'll leave you with this sweet picture of Kevin Jr. and Kevin III
