I read this series when it first came out in like '93, and it stuck with me to the point that when I read Twilight, I thought, "This woman read Vampire Diaries. She had to have." There were things in it that were so similar, it was ridiculous.

Haha yeah. I totally think that Meyers used a lot of what was in Vampire Diaries.
