. It’s been some time since I logged in to this account, but I finally felt like posting again. I recently went back through this journal, and was kind of on the fence as to whether to abandon it, delete it, etc. But after reading through my entries, I decided to hold on to it a little longer. I’ve found it to be a really great marker of events for me, and although probably pretty mundane overall, it’s still proving meaningful for me.
My oldest best friend in the world just came to town to visit me last week. We hadn’t seen each other in over 10 years, but it hardly seemed like it once we got to catching up. Old friends really are the best friends…both a mirror and a window. Plus, they remember the best stories and inside jokes…
We had a blast being on *vacation*, which basically meant a number of 14-hour hardcore days of regimented fun. In the course of four days we:
* Saw Kids in the Hall
* Toured the bars at City Walk
* Road Everest, visited Asia and Africa (Disney-Style)
* Had Dinner in Japan (Again, Disney-Style)
* Drank “Around the World” (You know…Disney-Style)
* Drove around the I-Drive tourist-traps, cursing the whole way :)
* Visited the Dali Museum in St. Pete
* Had drinks on a rooftop overlooking the beach (St. Pete style)
* Brunch and touring Winter Park
* Downtown Hilarity (Jamlando-Style)
* Meals with both sets of parents
I was exhausted by Monday, and still feel like I am recovering. But it was a lot of fun…
Oh, and with all of that I forgot to mention the weekend previous to that….parasailing and partying on a beach at Anna Maria Island. Complete with the overly-romantic moonlight, sound of water, and a sweet boy to share it with.
Oh yeah, and the weekend before that: canoeing at Wekiva with some girlfriends and margaritas afterwards.
And there’s been talk of learning how to surf over the summer…
The summer has been getting off to a really amazing start. Perhaps updates will come more regularly again?
