Election day

I voted before coming in this morning. I was up before 4 and talked myself into going back into bed. The voting was an excuse. I'm glad I did it though except that I have to work longer.

A few months ago I was listening to a nutritionist and one of the big points he made was to throw the scale out. I can be obsessive about it. I'm trying to be committed to the once a week Monday weigh in so it wouldn't control my moods everyday. I have a balance scale and I put my towel on the top part so everyday before I put my towel back I can get on the scale. Today I actually got on while getting my towel and of course it effected my mood when I got on the scale. However, I was 261 lbs so I'm probably feeling better about my efforts than I should.

Did I mention that traffic was light on the way in? :) No stops and I barely had time to do all the singing practice I'm working on. It's actually easier to think about the singing at 40 mph bumper to bumper than at 80 mph bumper to bumper.

I actually remember two dreams from last night. When I got up at 4AM I had just finished being back at my grammar school (OLPH). I'm not sure if I was walking or driving - or maybe even on a motorcycle - but I was leaving and I knew I was supposed to go around the front and pick up my younger brother. The driveway where our bus used to park was ripped up so I had to go through the back parking lot to W. Gates (I know you're picturing this Susie) and then on to Wellwood and over to the front of the school. I woke before stopping to pick Peter up.

Oh, shoot, I'm drawing a blank on my second dream. This one was just before I woke up at 8. I knew I should have written a word about it right away or I'd forget. One key word would be all I need to bring it back to me. Well, it's gone to me now. I doubt I'll remember now. I didn't think it was significant but I would have liked to remember it a few hours longer.

When I walk or run on a circular course I tend to try to vary the direction from clockwise to counter clockwise each time I go. The past two times I went around Needwood I went counter clockwise because I didn't think I could find my way if I went clockwise. The back side of the lake actually has arrows (white paint) on the ground to help hikers find their way. The part from the bridge where I start to the road outside the park is heavily wooded with a very light path on it. I think I will continue to go counter clockwise around Needwood until I'm a bit more familiar with that path. I'm pretty confident I can find my way in either direction on all but that one stretch. In actuality the first time I was on the back side of the lake (near the golf course) I was going in the other direction (clockwise) and it's actually easier that way.
