Happy Birthday, Roger Motherfucking Davis

Aug 03, 2009 23:33

Mark wasn't shocked by many things, but the speed and efficiency with which Angua pulled a party together was a thing of wonder. There were lists and orders and locations and food and drink...enough things to make his Boho head spin. Mark's idea of a party (and Roger's too, he was sure) consisted of some booze and some weed, some good music and an ( Read more... )

All right, so Patrick had gone to the bar for the pure perverse reason that he wanted to see if he could slip past it's shot-gun toting owner. He was bored, it was a Tuesday, he would not be denied!

Funnily enough, he got in just fine. Apparently Dean Winchester was down in a private party for one Roger Davis. No one was getting in if they weren't on the list.

Ergo, challenge accepted.

He sauntered over to the door like he belonged there, putting on his best confused face, "Oh, god, I am all turned around. This is where Roger is having his party, right?"

Patrick beamed at the young man, in his best, 'Hurrah, someone competent to help me' smile. He folded his arms behind him, "That's -- listen, are you the bouncer here?"

Patrick's expression fell a little, and then he looked towards the front entrance, then back at the other man, "You said there were other bouncers? Ah, like ones that should be the front door?"

Roger had grown an appreciation for barstaff in his own time. Before the island, Roger had tended bar at many a place, but never for more than about a week at a time. He got 86-ed a lot for not showing up or starting fights with surly customers, but of course, nothing that wasn't deserved.

Anyway, he loved barstaff. More than that, he loved barstaff who liked to help other barstaff out. Needless to say, he approached Zell with a drink and a smile.

"For all your help and troubles!" He called over the music.

"Yeah, yeah, birthday thing. My two best friends can't let holidays lie," Roger said, clasping Zell on the shoulder in a friendly, manly display. "It's badass. I'm way fucking grateful to Helen. And the staff, so." He smiled, raising his own cup in toast.

"Yeah, but you're kinda takin' double duty for me," Roger said, chuckling to himself at the dirtier implications like a 6-year-old.

"Listen, man, I gotta get back," Roger said, more excited and upbeat than he was on any average three days, "but feel free to pop by, dude!"
