Chris Cornell
Went and saw Chris Cornell last night with Oblio & Joe at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland. It was a freaking awesome show!!! He played a LOT of his older stuff. Old solo stuff, Audio Slave, Soundgarden, & his new stuff. I have to say ending the night with Spoonman & Black Hole Sun really sealed the deal for me since that was really what I used to listen to ALL the time of his. Now I seriously dig his new album... but it's just not the same live. heh. Though it was still cool. That guy really knows how to work a crowd and you can tell he loves what he does. It's really nice to see a big name still love what they do.
I'd never been to the Crystal Ballroom before so that was an experience. We got there super early so you really got to feel the false floor bounce around. Once the place was packed though it wasn't bouncy at all. Probably smart construction though since it gets so packed up there. Heh... there I go nerding out on the carpentry. It was really a beautiful place though. Quirky in all the right kind of ways.
All in all, awesome venue.... awesome show!!!
