Switzerland continued
My Christmas was spent driving to Switzerland and then waiting around in a bar for 4 hours because we arrived at the town (Lauterbrunnen) at noon but everything but this bar was closed, including the front desk to the hostel we were checking into, until 4.
That sucked, quite a bit. And then, my husband didn't set the phone to forward to his cell phone so I didn't get to talk to anyone on Christmas.
And I still haven't even gotten a Merry Christmas from Adam because he isn't answering the phone and hasn't been in the last 4 days.
I can tell you I felt pretty sorry for myself on Christmas, sitting in a bar sipping on some disgusting glass of beer and eating chicken nuggets.
Once we were able to check into our rooms (wow small much??? It was about 8 feet by 10 feet, with 2 bunkbeds and that's it.) we went and got dinner and most of the group went to go get drunk but I didn't go because I didn't want to get trashed and then go skydiving the next day. Pretty sure that would have been a bad idea.. so I just laid down in my bed and watched a movie with 2 other people (one who was also going to be skydiving the next day, and the other wanted to watch the movie and then go out.)
The next day we went skydiving (which was already posted about) and then the following day we went to go skiing but we ended up getting on the mountain too late and they wouldn't let us ski so we went ice skating instead.
Last night we all had a few drinks and had a good time, and we got home today around 4.
Had a very busy weekend. Glad to be back.
Couple things I'd like to point out, at least what I thought, was that the Swiss people are VERY RUDE! The lady that ran the front desk of the hostel was awful. And they also need to find a stick of deodorant and put it on. One waitress in one of the restaurants was making me gag she stunk so bad, it was awful.
Finally, the hostel really sucked. You had to pay just to use hot water in the shower!!! The rooms were tiny, and they smelled weird.
Next time I go anywhere, I am going to pay the extra money and get a hotel. The bathrooms were in a completely seperate building so if you had to pee in the middle of the night you had to get completely dressed and get your coat on and everything to go to the bathroom. And trust me you had to get everything on, otherwise you'd freeze your butt off.
All in all it was a good time, but most definitely don't recommend staying in the hostel.
