Well, my week's over. And, as expected, I didn't make it a whole day at work. This check was essentialy "free", with no bills to pay on this period, so since I'd already messed it up so bad I decided to call it a vacation and I left early yesterday and today. So, next time I say I need a vacation could one of you kindly remind me that I just had almost two full weeks with barely ten hours worked in all? That counts as a stay at home vacation, right?
Anyway, it's already getting to be over 100 degrees every day here. Yipee! *groans* I swear, moving to the middle of a desert was the second worst decision that I've ever made. It should actually give me an incentive to stay at work, it is air conditioned afterall. Although, I'd love to quit my job and move somewhere a little cooler. But, then I'd just complain that it's too cold. I'm never comfortable, temperature wise. And, I won't quit my job becuse, as much as I despise it, I do now make over $16 an hour to do a relativly easy job. Or I could become a phone sex operator and work from home. Maybe that's the ticket, huh?
So, on my mostly-day-off I decided to go to Del Taco for lunch, since I'm addicted to their chicken soft tacos and Mr. Pibb (which I can't seem to find too many other places) and then to a movie. I was going to see "Wolverine" again, but decided on "Star Trek" instead. I was a trekie in jr. high/high school, but I was always a TNG girl, so I wasn't sure if I was going to see this one. I'm glad I did though. It was great! A wonderful summer (well, almost summer) action flick with a very atractive cast, which is always a plus. BTW, did anyone else who's seen the movie think the guy playing Kirk looks like Brad Pitt back in the day, like around the time he did "Fight Club"? Or maybe I was the only one who sees the resemblance, who knows. Anyway, I liked the way they made some changes but still kept it feeling relativly true to the original Star Trek. I loved their take on Spock, and even though I've always prefered Picard to Kirk I kind of fell for him in this movie. Loved the whole Kirk/Uhura/Spock thing too. Cute. Oh, and if anyone on my FList was thinking of not seeing it because they're not trekies: go see it anyway. You don't need to be familiar with the franchise to enjoy the film. So, any of you seen it yet? Like it? Hate it? Do tell.
