So, went to see "Watchmen" today. Had to wait in line a few minutes, which I haven't done for any movie in a really long time, but it was worth it. I loved it! There were some faults, I won't say it was perfect, and I wonder if viewers who aren't fans of the comic enjoyed it as much as the fans, but I really enjoyed it overall. The casting, IMO, was great. Everyone was pretty much just like I'd pictured them. And it held my attention, which considering it's 2 hr 40 min in length, it's rare for my mind not to start wondering at some point even durring a good movie. And, as for the changed ending? I actually liked it. I would have been fine with the squid, but this worked for me too, and it made sense. BTW, am I the only one that was shocked that they didn't chicken out and ended up doing Doctor Manhattan's "apperance" right? I thought for sure taht he'd get the Ken doll treatment on the big screen. There was some old lady two rows in front of me who, I guess, had taken her grandson to see the movie... an hour or so in to the movie she says "is that man naked? oh my god, is that his... we're leaving!" So, yay for big blue cocks that shock little old ladies *LOL* Anyway, so glad that I took the day off to see the movie ASAP. Now I just have to wait until the extended DVD comes out.
Anybody else go to see it today? What did ya think?
Oh, and I've been working on my drawing. I've been trying simple little "how-tos" that I've found online. Considiering that I haven't picked up a pencil since '03 and at the time I could only draw crocked stick figures... I guess I'm not doing too bad only one week in. Anybody want to take a look?
