Well, stranger things have happened...

But not much stranger than this. I won the football betting pool at work! Yes, out of almost 300 people, some of which follow the sport religiously, I won for week 4! I was the only person to go 12-4 this week *LOL* How, might you ask, did I do this? I picked my favorite mascots. So, there you have it, the secret to winning your workplace pools *LOL* I got a $20 Sabbaros gift certificate out of it, plus a good laugh, so I'm happy. Still, it's the weiredest, most utterly unexpected, thing to happen to me in a long while.

And, lest I forget, here's my September recommended reading list. I just finished a book tonight, but since it's already October that means I only finished As always, bolded titles are highly recommended.

"Slow Decay" by Andy Lane - The third Torchwood book, and the last of the season one books. (An odd little factoid, all three of the S1 books seem to take place before ep 1.4, "Cyberwoman", for whatever strange reason. Although, it is cute catching little bits of Ianto trying to keep everyone away from Lisa's hiding place.) As with the previous books, the actual book is far better than the audio books, so if you've heard them I'd still say that you should read the books unedited. Plus, in this instance, the title made a hell of a lot more sense with the secondary side-story that gets cut out of the audio but is left in the book.

This time, it's about the TW team trying to find out what's been eating weevils, as well as other people and small animals, all over Cardiff. And why it seems to leave behind human teeth marks.

The book was pretty good. Could have easily been an episode. Action-y and interesting, even if it wasn't the most amazing work of literary mastery every written. Seriously though, if I could get one of those diet pills from the story I'd take it. Alien parisite and all *LOL*
