I feel like shooting a deer...
So, I head out to work today and find a note tapped to my door from the managment. It's a five day pay or quit notice. Well, my rent check has already cleared, so I head down to the office and find abouut five other people with similar notices in their hands. According to the office/management they raised the rent and posted notes on our doors on October 15. I NEVER got any such note, and I've gotten other such notes before and since from them in the same manner, so I think I would have noticed this one. So, long story short, I get to pay $25 extra this month and they raise my rent from $550 to $615 next month. Oh joy! I'd already planned on leaving after next month, so no big, but it would have been nice to get proper warning!
On a better note, they let me go home as soon as I got to work (Jose had actually tried to call me at home before I came in, since he knew I wanted off, but he missed me by like ten minutes) so I got to go to the movies. I had wanted to go see "The Golden Compass" yesterday, but we were too busy for me to leave. So, today I went shopping at FAO Schwartz (the toy store) and then headed over to the movies. Let me say, I loved it. It was so pretty. The effects were gorgeous! The plot was fun, kind of a "Narnia" sort of thing, and pretty dark for a kid's movie. I enjoyed it a lot. I'm looking foward to the sequel (it ended with a cliff-hanger sort of thing) and I'll probably go and get the books soon. All and all, I'd reccommend it.
