I forgot to bring in my new jar of instant coffee today, so I went to Dunkin Donuts and went for a medium instead of my usual small. Big mistake. I'm feeling super wired and anxious.
Whiiiich is making it so much more difficult to wait for Wiley to call or send me an e-mail letting me know if they want to have a phone interview with me. I applied for a paid internship, and a friend of mine already works there. She said my resume was well received, and she expects I'll get a phone interview but doesn't know for sure. And if there's anything I've learned from job hunting, it's that nothing is certain until it happens.
I'm so bad at being patient. I really want this internship. It's less hours than my current job, but I think I could live on it, and I could definitely live on it if I get a second part time job. Might even go back to Staples if they'll take me, I'm pretty sure I left on good terms there.
And really, this is all making me question whether or not I want to go into film/tv. It's super competitive. And, most projects don't last long, so it seems like you're constantly applying for a job. And I hate applying for jobs.
Publishing, while still competitve, seems like it has more entry level positions. I'm definitely seeing more postings for them. And even though a lot of companies are having layoffs, it seems like the nature of the industry is to keep employees for a decent amount of time. Once one project is done you don't have to start all over again finding new work.
Not totally ruling out tv and film. But for now, not setting my heart on them.
