There is a bitterly cold north-west wind blowing today. I braved the cold (it's about 5C/41F) and went for a walk; my family and I are doing another photo challenge so I'm motivated to go out every day as long as it's not raining. (I was unsuccessful at finding a spiderweb, today's prompt; I think it's too windy for spiders.) My nose cooperated and didn't show any signs of bleeding, which was a relief. I've got an appointment with the ENT doctor on 22nd January, but so far I've had two emails from Kaiser offering me earlier appointments because of cancellations. I kind of wish I was home already so I could have taken one of those appointments. One was as early as next week.

Yesterday Violet and Eden wanted me to take them for a bike ride late in the afternoon. Since I don't have a bike here, I had to walk and they had to keep stopping to wait for me. Eden was keen to ride as far as the house of one of her friends, which I noted as downhill all the way. When I told her she would be riding uphill most of the way back she told me we could take a different road which wouldn't be uphill, but she didn't realise that this house was at pretty much the highest point of our route, so whichever way we went home, it would be uphill even if parts of it were downhill, which turned out to be the case and she ended up walking her bike for much of the way home. She didn't complain though.
