How I wasted an hour

On "Monkey Origami" --

Moved ?!C's opening phrase "I met a girl" forward one measure, trimmed it to meet with "she made my head whirl". Added volume envelope on my backing vocals bus, increased it to 0dB in the opening "I met a girl."

Inserted a new MIDI track for a channel 2 lead synth saw wave on the TTS-1 soft synth. Set it to play a G5 over ?1C's "disposable toy" (into the vocoder). Printed it to a new track (called it "frills") and then muted the source. Added high and low cut sonitus EQ to the frills track. Inserted some Soulforce distortion (don't remember which preset, but I tweaked it a bit by turning the shape parameter down somewhat). Inserted the steroid bouncer plug-in to center-pan the result more.

Added a monkey scream clip to the frills track (I had downloaded a half dozen the other day; I think it was "1monkey.wav") Inserted steroid bouncer L and R pan envelopes to move it around the pan field.

Clipped some falsetto laughing from the end of one of my tracks and moved it to the frills track just after "Love that makes me high". While moving it around, I got annoyed at how Sonar 7 HS created new nodes in the envelopes. So I opened the help system to learn how to make it not do that.

Then it crashed on me.

So I restarted it and set it for automatic saves every 20 minutes. Better late than never.

Now I'm going to watch another episode of Bones.

-edit-

At this point in the writeup, I went to the LJ help system to find out the tag for strikethrough. Rather than open in new tab, I went directly to it and therefore lost the above text. Later, coming back intending to write up a new "how I wasted an hour and a half" I was offered the choice of restoring a draft! Hallelujah, something worked right!
