[He's been treated and is out of the infirmary. He has his flexi propped up to show the flower Persephone left for him. A unique, purple one she made for him. Though with the time of year, it's last blooms are going away.]
This was a gift left for me by Persephone before her departure, after her graduation. She was skilled with flowers, and her control over them was exceptional. [Trance was gifted with plants too, so he has a fondness.] Flowers themselves are unique message, presenting something personal in the very nature of what they are.
Fragile petals that are meant to display the essential parts of reproduction, the very continuation of this flower's life and sort and the progress of its species being entirely dependent on being noticed at the height of health and beauty. Whether it be scent or color, the texture of petal or the taste of the pollen for all too brief a time we're given the chance to enjoy them, and longer if you're willing to invest yourself in maintaining one.
Fortunately, these will come back.

They're even a symbol of strength in some cultures. Beyond offers of friendship or courtship, the cultivation of them coupled with meditation is considered essential to some warrior foundations to better revere nature and it's usefulness. The strength of a living branch and it's flexibility an embodiment of the strength they should display in battle and of the construction of the homes that will protect them when the wars are done.

The most disappointing thing about the situation in the CES, is that I'm certain that it will make them fear things that, by merely considering them, could have made them stronger and brought them closer to others.
