Summary: Brittany gets confused with game names.
Author’s Note: Written for the prompt ‘Final’ for challenge 20 ‘Brittany’s Bingo Bonanza’ at gleeverse
“Bingo!” Brittany shouted
“What?” Santana said looking a little confused
“Bingo! Let’s play” Brittany said hitting Santana’s arm and shouting “Bingo”
“We can’t play bingo here” Santana said gesturing to the grass on the football field as they walked
They were the only ones left on the field after Cheerio’s practice. Everyone else had rushed inside to get their stuff so they could go home.
“Why not? It’s perfect. Bingo!” she shouted again and again hit Santana’s arm, this time running a little way from her.
Santana rubbed her arm and looked annoyed “stop hitting me and shouting that, will ya” she kept walking towards the school
Brittany’s face fell “But it’s part of the game……… fine, if you don’t want to play” her arms fell to her sides and she walked behind Santana sullenly
Santana stopped in her tracks and put her arm out to stop Brittany walking. Brittany walked straight into it and stopped “Hang on, hitting people isn’t part of Bingo” she said looking confused again
“Sure it is, I hit you and shout bingo, then I run away and you have to catch me and when you do you shout bingo! Come on, we used to play it all the time” Brittany looked at Santana as if she were stupid.
Santana started to laugh “Brittany, that’s not Bingo, bingo’s when you have a card with numbers on and someone calls out random numbers and you have to mark off the ones you have on your card, when you get all of them, THEN you shout bingo”
Brittany looked blank for a good 10 seconds “well, that sounds really boring” she said looking at Santana with her head tilted to the side “MY bingo is much more fun” she said like it was a fact. She then looked directly into Santana’s eyes and smiled cheekily. Santana narrowed her eyes at her knowing something was going to happen.
“BINGO!” Brittany shouted then waited a second, hit her best friends arm and legged it away from her.
Santana opened her mouth in shock and watched as Brittany stopped running and turned to face her grinning wildly, her eyes twinkling with delight.
“You are SO going to pay for that” Santana said running towards her best friend, who dashed to the right to avoid her giggling. Santana quickly changed direction to catch her.
They both darted around the field screaming in excitement trying to catch each other and shouting ‘Bingo’ if they did eventually make contact. As they started to tire Santana dove at Brittany, but she was too tired to avoid her and they both fell to the ground laughing.
“Bingo” Santana said breathlessly, rolling Brittany onto her back and laying on her pinning her arms to the ground “I win” she smiled.
“You only win this round” Brittany said as Santana got up and reached her hand out to help Brittany up.
As they walked back towards the school, Brittany reached out and took hold of Santana’s hand. Santana looked over at Brittany and smiled, before she could turn away Brittany leaned towards her and kissed her quickly.
“Bingo” She whispered and ran towards the school laughing loudly looking back at her friend like a mischievous child
“OH! You want to play it like that? Fine, but this is the final game” Santana shouted and started running after Brittany
“’til tomorrow” Brittany shouted back.
