Stepping off that plane was like stepping into a fucking oven. That's not a joke or an exaggeration, it's a scientific fucking comparison. It was straight from the comfortably climate-controlled plane and into a fucking oven. The desert stretches on in every direction. The horizon is endless in all directions. The sun doesn't beat down on you here. The sun beats down on you when you're on the beach, or in texas, or in arizona. The sun sears straight through your fucking soul. It was easily 100+ degress, probably closer to 110, 120. But of course there was a breeze. You know how during the winter, the wind chill factor makesthe temperature feel even lower?? Well over hear there's a wind heat factor. It does the exact opposite of the wind chill factor. The wind is not cooling; it does not feel good in any shape or worm. Instead it's this dry, disgusting, warm breeze. The wind acts like a million freaking blow dryers pointed directly at you. When the wind blows, it feels even hotter than it really is. It's unbelieveable. If you're ever wondering what the weather is like over here, go find a large oven and stand in it, then purchase enough hair dryers to completely cover one side of the oven. Turn those hair dryers on high, with the temperature knobs cranked all the way up. Next, take some of those tanning lamps and cover the ceiling of the oven. Turn all of them on high. now put on, long pants, boots with long socks, two thick dress shirts, an undershirt, a hat, and some sunglasses. Welcome to my everyday in this god-forsaken part of the world.
I'll update whenever I can, with whatever doesn't violate operational security. Right now I'm suspended in limbo waiting to move to my final destination. No telling how long I'll be here or when I'll leave. I spend most of my day relaxing in the thankfully air-conditioned tent with some other guys, watching movies, reading, napping, or whatever else we can do to pass the time. Hope you guys are enjoying school. I'll let you know when I find out what my address here is.
