Happy Independence Day to all those Americans who have today (and the weekend, for that matter) off...
Unfortunately my job means I don't get the day off, last day off was last Thursday, my next day off is this coming Wednesday (boo hoo)...
A wee bit of trivia: the Declaration of Independence was actually signed on July 2nd, it's just that back in those days it took 2 days to get the word, and copies of the document, out to all the 13 colonies. So everyone remembered July 4th as the day they first heard about the Declaration, and that is why that date became our "birthday"...
