Well it was always "iffy" if the contract was going to get renewed, but all us temps were thinking it would because the client spent the last month spending a lot of time training us...I just got additional training two weeks ago.
But scuttlebutt has it that this is the way this client operates, last-minute decisions.
I contacted an agency I registered with last fall back where I used to live...the local office sent me out on a couple of assignments and I got excellent feedback. When I was moving I noticed their office that's next to the town where I moved was advertising a long-term-to-perm position, so I had the old office transfer my paperwork to the new office.
The new office said that they were going to start staffing in February, March at the latest, and to give them a call when I'd finished my move. Well I'd gotten the contract position that ended today in the meantime, so I let the other agency know I wasn't available.
Well I contacted that agency today, and to my surprise they still have the original posting open that was supposed to have been filled by March. They needed a whole bunch of people, so I guess they couldn't find enough.
Anyway, since I'm already registered with the agency, unless the client wants to interview me themselves it's a good possibility that I'll get that job....
